Case study 2:
Scanning and cleaning of Field Measurement Books of Land Records Department
Department wanted to Digitise the field measurement Books and want to convert them to Black & white images without losing any data. They are the maps with few details written over them. They are in 3 major forms. On ammonia paper with blue back ground and matter and maps in white colour. The tonal quality is so bad that we can hardly read the data. But Human eye reads the data with mind but a machine can’t. So the conversion become more difficult and the data loss is inevitable. The client is a Govt department and not willing to digital correction of the statuary records. After scanning they are not worried about the originals and it is observed that the scanning process will not damage them as they made on thick paper. So Our R&D team suggested to scan at very high DPI to make color to B&W conversion easy. So we scanned them at 600 DPI using SCSI Flat bed scanners and the conversion become simpler. Samples submitted.
Case study 3: Conservation and Digitisation of 15th Century copper plates of TT Devasthanams
TT Devsthanams is a historical religious place with 60000 visitors per day. They have a large collection of Copper plates on which Lord Sri Venkateswara Kirthans carved. They were made in 14 th century and kept under very tight security due to their Religious importance. So many efforts were made to digitise them and many companies and many types of equipments flailed to achieve the desired result. They were 3 types
- Standard plates with 5 KGs weight and measured 9inches * 16 Inches
- Palm leaf plates with 6inches * 2.5 ft each 2.5 Kgs
- Banda plates with 2ft * 3 Ft each 10 KGs weight
The total plates were stored in 14 Almirahs and weighing approx 5 tonnes
The authorities initially very pessimistic about our technology as many people failed. Our R&D team spent one whole week doing R&D to achive desired result and finally they achieved a technical model for what exactly the client want.

Case Study 9: Digitisation of News papers
Our client is a famous News paper and wanted to digitise their library collections from 1890. They want no processing to be done on the originals and they want the originals look like originals with their discoloration and old look. Case Study 10:
Digitisation of Microforms for Telugu cataloguing Society
Our Client is having a large collection of microforms where they microfilmed the typed and hand written text of library cards. The microforms are very old and the amount of the noise is enormous. So we first digitised them suing Kodak microfilm to digital equipment. Now the client is preparing a database of the all such cards and we developed cataloguing software for them. The data entry operators find it difficult to read the original microforms and the client requested us to reduce the noise. So we preserved the original digital data and removed the noise using our sophisticated tools. A little data lost is observed on using such tools but it is justified and accepted by our client as the data entry operators are very comfortable in reading the originals.
